   I purchased this set to teach my children how to play chess. I thought the price was right so it couldn't be that bad, right? Let's just say I was amazed at the detail and quality from such an inexpensive set. The designer took the time to ensure all of the details were taken care of in a cost friendly set. The entire inside of the set is lined with felt and has an elastic band so each piece is secure during transport and storage. It has great mahogany inlay and the hinges are designed to fold almost completely flat so there is no crack in the board during play.
   Overall, for the price, I was thrilled with this purchase. I didn't want to spend several hundred dollars for a starter set for my kids and yet I got a great quality product from Chess Armory. I would highly recommend this product and this company to anyone.

   I can’t really write a qualified review as yet because this is a Christmas gift for my grand daughter, but it looks so much like my husband’s (her grandfather who passed away) that I know she’ll be thrilled with it. She’s only eight years old but he had started teaching her to play. I gave his set to our son, as he and his dad played on it all his life and it was very special to him, but now she’ll have one very much like the one she’s been learning to play on. Thank you!

   I am quite satisfied with the chess set I received. There are no perceivable imperfections in the board or the pieces. The felt bottoms were all centered. The tiles lined up. It opens completely flat. The fabric interior with the loops to hold each piece is quite nice. I got this as a gift for a student of mine that was in the hospital. He adored it and thinks it must've been very expensive. :)

   The chessboard is put together very nicely. I can tell care was taken to assemble each piece of the board as there are no apparent evidence of putty in the seams. The board is light weight and feels like it might not be ultra durable, but a Chessboard is not something that is supposed to take a lot of abuse. The pieces are organized nicely inside the board when it is folded for transport or storage. The felt on the bottom of the pieces is a nice touch. I am happy to have such a nice board that I can take anywhere.

I will update this review should there be any problem with the contents, however I am not anticipating any. I particularly like the offer of an eBook of instructions as we plan to use this chess set to teach our grandson the game. Also, the seller offers to replace any missing pieces should you lose any. That’s a good offer. I like this seller. 5 Stars.

   This is a perfect chess board for our purposes. I bought it for my husband as an early Christmas gift. It important to me that it’s easy to store and able to bring with us in our camper van for travel, though I think travel via air would be hard due to size but doable. It seems well made, and we really enjoy it.
   One thing I already know I don’t like, but is very minor, is the elastic that holds each individual piece inside the box. I just don’t see myself storing them every time we place so a nice bag or other option would be nice for storage.
