   This basketball hoop is an amazing value. I bought a second one for my 9 year old to replace the one he used for two years. The backboard broke on the first one after two years of daily heavy use. I mean really heavy use! He and his buddies were slamming balls through that basket hundreds of times a day....this is not an exaggeration! His Dad is a college b'ball coach and for my grandson and his friends it is all sports, all the time -- mostly basketball. The first one broke the day after Christmas 2014 ( two years since first one was installed).

   This will be our 4th time purchasing this goal. My son is 9 & absolutely loves this thing but he likes to dunk on it constantly. That’s partly what it’s for, so it’s been pretty frustrating that it keeps breaking that exact same way, every single time. It’ll break right above the rim & the entire rims falls off. Luckily, each time, he’s gotten out of the way, but nonetheless, quite frustrating. This last one only lasted 3 months. I’m re ordering b/c it brings him so much joy playing around on it.

   Absolutely fantastic! I would definitely recommend the xl version, and get some of the sklz foam balls while you're at it. The rubber ball that comes with this is heavy, it's just like a real basketball and could do some serious damage to your house. The backboard can bend pretty easily, it's not thick enough that it stays straight. I wouldn't let your kids slam dunk much or it could break, as the backboard will bend when the rim is pulled down. Overall this is a fantastic present for my son. My wife loves to play basketball with him, it's a quality item that will last for years and years if you don't treat it like it's something to hang on.

   I just installed this mini hoop in our boys bedroom and it’s a hit! It’s super easy they way it’s meant to go up but I hate hanging things over doors so I took off the hooks meant for over the door and cut two pieces of thin wood we had sitting in the garage to make an filler for where that was and screwed it into the wall with some wall anchors. It took a little extra time installing it but well worth it! A lot of reviewers talk about a super flimsy backboard and it definitely is!! The ring itself is amazingly perfect, high quality! Like others have said if the backboard breaks I’ll probably make one myself and reuse the hoop but for the price I took off stars because it doesn’t make since not to thicken up the plastic backboard that it comes with in the first place..

   I wanted a basketball hoop, but didn’t want to commit to a full size one because we don’t have a large enough driveway. This is a perfect size! We put it at the back of the house, we have a large patio and it’s the perfect amount of space to have a couple people play a game. The ball is miniature of course, but very sturdy basketball and has great grip. The hoop itself you can actually dunk! I’m 29 and weigh 165lbs and it holds my weight pretty well I’d say. One of my friends weighs 250lbs and it didn’t break when he dunked. I don’t want to hang on it too long to test it’s limits, but it’s great to get some dunks in. The springs are what really helps I believe. The backboard is shatterproof as well so I’m not afraid of the kids accidentally breaking and them getting hurt.

   We upgraded our son's bedroom hoop from a cardboard model to this one and we are not disappointed. Heavy duty, it can withstand the daily beatings it gets from an active 9 year old boy, and he feels like he's playing on a real hoop! Word of caution - since it is so heavy duty, it can mark up your door and doorframe; his door is gouged and the paint is now missing. Had we put some extra padding between the backboard and the door, this would have helped. Not sure what we'd have done differently with the door frame since we want the door to close (which it does right now). Granted - my son takes flying leaps and dunks constantly so we expect some heavy wear and tear. The hoop is holding up though!
