The plastic material is decent, shows a bit of flex when lifting it, fully loaded, but it is not meant to be carried. Ideal to be put on a shelf or fridge with various jams or pickles or sauces etc. That is what I am using it for.

The only issue is knives that have a very Chunky handle, they tend to not rest as good at the top. Im very impressed and have bought multiple for our community kitchen.

   This is very big. You need to have space. We needed a large knife block for our many cooking knives. Most we saw would not find all our knives. This holds them all, from our small paring knife to our cleaver. Only a 12" bread knife and our 9" chef knife didn't fully fit. We liked that the bottom removes for cleaning. Haven't cleaned it yet. We'll see how easy it is in the future. Meanwhile. It looks good on our counter.
