The car charger mount includes a soft metallic ring in the box that I was able to use to create a secure hold. I attached the self-adhesive ring to the inside of my TPU case, but it would work well on the outside of a case or attached directly to the phone. After adding the ring, it holds securely and charges well. Pretty sweet. The ring doesn't interfere with any of my other Qi chargers, either. The unit itself holds securely to the vent in my vehicle. It also includes a short charge cable.

Strong magnet that works well even when I have a case covering the metal ring they deliver with the unit. I have a Galaxy S8 and tried some previous magnetic chargers and they could not hold the phone up. The wireless charging works fine, however it's no where near what you get from a modern fast charger. While driving and running Waze or Google maps with the screen on full time, the phone holds at a steady charge level but barely increases at all. I'm ok with that because I hate hooking it to a cable. It's super convenient to just jump in the car and slap the phone on the dash. The spring-loaded vent-grip mechanism is plenty secure. The magnet is matched well in that it holds strongly but doesn't rip the holder out of the vent like some of the other simple magnetic holders I have.

The magnet is strong enough to hold my phone securely to the charging mount without slipping out of place when going over bumps in the road, yet is easy to pick phone up from mount. Only downside is the magnet itself is hard to hide with the clear phone cases I use. But product worth purchasing a new solid phone case to hide the magnet. Love this product and have recommended it to friends and family.

I did find that when using it though the case, it's best to have a semi-horizontal vent. I LOVE this charger.
