   This was a direct replacement for the 3 hardwired smoke and carbon monoxide (CO) detectors that needed to be replaced in my house. I got the exact model and they fit perfectly and had the 3 of them installed in minutes. Remember, the manufacturer states that you should not mix brands since they may not properly interconnect and communicate properly in case of a smoke/carbon monoxide situation. The one in the dining room (none in the kitchen) picks up the steam/smoke when we cook and sets them all off. Not good when cooking breakfast and everyone is still asleep. But I rather it goes off then it doesn't, plus it more my fault because I'm still learning to cook and tend to over do it
