The expandable feature was even more important than we realized....Most coatracks do not have screw holes 16" apart, so that they have to be put in drywall, which makes them flimsy. These are solidly installed even though we found that our studs were not consistently 16" apart, which is still the distance at which they look best. A great deal for the money.
