Much like I used position for using a hatchet I first tried it by drilling down the center of a log to try and split it. That doesn't work. I was a touch annoyed thinking this doesn't work. Then I went it from the side. It split everything perfectly. The trick is don't use it with massive logs. It won't really work. Use with smaller diameter logs and it works a treat. Took me five minutes to make kindling for the week. Very pleased.

It did a great job on this pallet that I needed to dispose of. As some have mentioned it can get stuck if you drill into the center of a solid piece of wood. It's best to work inward from the edges. If you reverse a stuck bit it will just unscrew the bit from the splitter. To get unstuck, it's best just to move the drill sideways. I doubt it will work on very wet wood, it needs to be dry.
