The downside is, I don't know where the manual is therefore cannot recall how to turn off the recording as I have it set for midnight which can be a little alarming when you hear your own voice.

Easy to set up, has battery back-up but portion size is very small. Feed my puppy at noon while I'm at work (He gets fed in the morning and evening by me), I have this set at the highest setting (9?) so he gets a reasonable amount of lunch. Portion sizes could be somewhat larger so I wouldn't have to have it set so high. Glad he's not going to be large dog when fully grown like a Great Dane but still a Beagle could use a bit more food for lunch. Still it's a good purchase.
