This is a fantastic iron as I do a lot of soldering since I fly RC Planes. It gets plenty hot enough to solder anything I need.. However, I now wish that I would have purchased one with a temp control for doing tiny circuits. This will do it but you need to be careful not to over heat your project or use one of the pointed tips. I probably will buy a Weller solder station to control the heat for my needs, but for most normal projects, this is a perfect tool!

The LED lights help a ton, since they alleviate the shadows generated by your hand. The tips are easy to replace, and the iron heats up quickly. The wide flange and triangular shape let you set it down without requiring a stand.

I wish the cord were more flexible, but this is consistent among all soldering irons. No big deal there.

BEWARE, when heating for the 1st time be sure to tin the tip in use. i didn't do it and the tip got black. i used fine sandpaper to sand the black layer of and reheat and tinned it with rosin core leaded solder. now it works perfect
