It is also well padded and cushiony. The front panel unzips for easy in and out, or if you just dont want the front up. A really ideal pet car seat. Lots of protection when strapped in properly ;)

   Regardless of how comfortable and well made the bed is, my 8 pound morkie does NOT like to ride in the car. She goes panting and shaking and prefers to have a lap seat. Issue with this item specifically is the straps would not go tight enough around the compartment and would slide back and forth as well as the whole length was too long for the console. Did mot allow for laying down even of she would.

   My 4 pound teacup poodle absolutely loves her new car seat. She tries to climb in it every time we get in the car. I thought she'd prefer my lap since, that's all she's ever known, but instead she wants to get her seat for every ride. She sleeps comfortably in it and when she rides awake she enjoys looking out the windows and loves to bark at every dog she spots! It was easy to install. It seems sturdy as well. I would recommend this to others.
