   I have never been a cat guy, but since having to clean up my neighbor's cat poop on and off for the last two years, my unappreciation for this worthless animal had evolved into outright HATE. I am a pretty animal-friendly dude (non-hunter, throw smaller fish back, etc) but lately the sight of my neighbors cats have evoked unsavory, downright dubious plots to rid myself of this vermin (a cat relocation program was in the works...until my wife shot that down). Thankfully, I came across this device and after tweaking the settings a bit, there has been no feces in sight! It remains silent to human ears as long as it is on a setting for smaller pests (cats/racoons and smaller)and stays on the continuous ac setting. I accidentally had it on the battery setting (even though it was plugged in) for the first few days and the switching on/off of the device produces a very audible ZAP sound. My wife commented that she thought it was shooting at her whenever she pulled into the driveway. It's only been 1 week, but I've noticed that the cats are keeping a WIDE birth of my property. Worth the money.

   I have a problem with all my plants being trampled and rocks being kicked around my yard. This has solved that problem by setting it to the mosquito tone range around 17 KHz. Before anyone gets upset I just want to say I have a daughter who can hear the noise and I have it positioned so it can only be heard when your in my yard, not the street, not the neighbors yard - so as long as your not in my yard you do not have to worry about it.

   Neighborhood cats were a nuisance in our backyard because of their defecation on our backyard lawn and spraying their urine on our patio glass door. Both wandering dogs and cats would use the front yard lawn as a latrine. I ordered six Yard Gard electronic units--four for the back yard and two for the front. While our results are not perfect, I would estimate that the messes that I have to clean up have been reduced by about 95%.

   This is a replacement for the same item that was accidentally smashed by a construction crew. After 3 yrs trying for something effective to keep wildlife out of my FL pool & deck, esp raccoons, this animal repeller was the BEST. First day, raccoons pulled up a box to climb up to it on the wall & tried to pry it off, all while it was flashing & emitting the high pitched sound. They were unable to, & never NEVER came back (6 yrs), along with the serious e-coli bacteria they were depositing in the pool with their morning swims! Was so relieved to see the very same repeller was still available & delivered quickly. The wire is very thin & fits easily under the screen & window's lower sash to plug into an inside recepticle. I heard the faint sound only when new, but can see the tiny light flashing red immediately when someone steps in the sensed spectrum as described.

   I have a neighbor who loves to feed birds. He has a large bird feeder that he fills every couple of days. The birds congregate there in the mornings and evenings. This includes pigeons. Problem is they take the seed and fly over to my deck, land on my railings and proceed to leave their droppings. I come home every night and wash down my railings and deck only to repeat the process the next day. This has been going on every summer for years. I did not want to upset my neighbor but I had enough. I was going to get an Electronic Owl but figured this might cause a problem so I decided to try the Bird-X Yard Guard. I have to be quite honest... I did not have high hopes but figured for the price, what did I have to loose. I followed the directions. Set it just above the deck railing and adjusted it so it would not interfere with my neighbors feeder. One day went by and suddenly, no more droppings. Could not believe it! I liked it so much, I bought another for the front yard where they land on my cars and leave their calling cards. One day later and no more birds on my cars. Great job Bird-X. I am a believer.

   We use this product in our yard to repel deer. Before , we tried dozens of chemicals, devices, and barriers. Some worked at first - but then deer became used to them. Every year, they stripped our azaleas and many other plants clean of buds and leaves from fall to early spring. There were no flowering azaleas in our yard then! Worse, deer liked to "hang out" in our yard even when nothing was left of their preferred vegetation. They then began to chew on and sometimes strip plants they would normally leave alone. In short, deer made themselves at home in our yard.

   The key is proper installation and protection from rain. They say it is weather proof but I lost my first unit years ago in a rain storm and did not try again until recently. If you keep it dry (I made a weather proof enclosure for them) and point it at the place in question where the bats are, they leave. I had to tape the units up into a tilted position to direct the sound at where they roost. Their poop disappeared from one side of the house, and they moved over to the other side of the house! I could hear them in the wall. So I bought another unit and it works great unless someone accidentally unplugs it. I wish I had tried this again years ago.

   I used this device to scare off the stray animal that had begun to poo next to my house. After a few days, I stopped having the problem. I continued to use it throughout the summer months. The only draw back is that the batteries do not last very long. An average of two weeks. But then I live close to a busy road and it may be that the traffic vibrations kept it on continuously. The range is great. I would say about 50 feet.

   WOW! I'm really surprised these work so well considering some of the other reviews. The only time these did not work and we saw squirrels is when we didn't have the setting on correctly. The directions could be a little to help on exactly where you should turn the dial to for the correct animal. But the product works. We use batteries - they last about 4 weeks. Well worth it since we don't have electric where we need the protection.
