   This UV light has dual light frequencies. The 395nm LED's light is visibly purple and is good for general UV investigations of things like pet urine. the 365nm LED's light is almost invisible (not entirely, but almost) and is good for situations where visible purple light gets in the way of seeing the luminescence from the test material. For instance, I have some uranium-glass marbles which glow bright green under the UV lights, and the green looks better with the 365nm light than with the 395nm light.

   I like it a lot and need it for rock hunting tomorrow. - I have a clear issue with one of them. The button that is suppose to power either one or both of the light diodes is not functioning. It turns on both, and then it takes two clicks to turn the flashlight back on with both lights present and powered. The switch is not engaging the ability to pick one led over the other. May I have a replacement for the broken one? I ordered 2.

He uses them to help him paint with certain paints on his canvases because some paint he uses can only be seen under certain light so he likes to hide paintings inside his paintings only seen with light similar to this. He very much so liked this flashlight. Its not like anything weve ever found in stores. It was heavy duty, long lasting battery life, Great lighting and easy to use. Good buy and worth the money.

   I use this flashlight to uv cure an acrylic repair resin for stone. I click it to the second setting, which is more deep purple hugh, which seems to be the right wavelength for this material. Works great, its tough construction, don't have to worry about it falling apart if it gets dropped. Haven't had to change the batteries yet, but I only use it for 30 second - 1 min intervals. I'm very pleased with it and would purchase it again.

   I love this light. The two different wavelengths cause fluorescent objects to glow differently. I'm using it to photograph flowers and, the different effects are fascinating. I really don't have battery life data yet but, I gave it five stars because you have a choice of three AAAs or one 18650. I don't expect battery life to be a problem. The light is sturdy, waterproof and the beam is widely adjustable. I would recommend this light.
