I didn't get the sense that this was defective as much as it was poorly engineered and never intended to actually work--it was just supposed to appear as if it might work. Beware the cheap price. Not worth it if the line will not advance. Instead I purchased the Husqvarna replacement part and it was no comparison. Please don't waste your money.
