   The globe itself is perfectly laser etched. Though I thought I ordered the "Galaxy" I guess I was wrong. The "Solar System" is fine too. Also many different light patterns can be set. Including color changing and static color. The base can either be run with 3 AAA batteries, or with the power adapter included. The glass sphere is the perfect size as well.

   Though not overly large (approximately the size of a baseball), I find the solar system crystal ball truly soothing. For me, the setting that allows the colors to gradually morph from one shade to another, are quite calming, and often, downright mesmerizing. I've had to deal with frustrating bouts of insomnia for the majority of my life; often accompanied/caused by an inability to quiet my mind/racing thoughts whilst trying to fall asleep. The light emitted by the globe is neither too bright nor too disruptive, allowing my thoughts to calm, and enabling me to drift off with far more ease. Not to be hyperbolic, but this has been a bit of a miracle and a source of much needed relief.
