   This was an excellent product. I had a breathalyzer installed on my car. Every time I would drink , I would use this product to test my bac level. Once it said 0.00 (after a few hours of waiting), I would get on my car, blow on the breathalyzer installed on my car, and drive with no problem. The breathalyzer in my car never gave me a problem. This product really helped me a lot . I would recommend this product to anyone any day ! I never calibrated the device . I just needed this through my 6-7 month of probation with the breathalyzer. So I never had to calibrated it . I had about 100 blows when I stopped using it .

With that in mind, I recommend buying this device as it is both accurate and convenient to use. If you blow high, then call your wife, call an Uber, or stay put until you are within the legal range. Best to never drink and drive, but if you are out and have had a few. Better to know your number than to meet a police officer or trooper who will happily administer the test using his breathalizer.

   I bought this because I sometimes tend to get carried away with drinking once I start and I wanted to do better at moderation. I can't say enough about how glad I am that I bought this breathalyzer because it has really changed my life for the better! I have an unfortunately high tolerance for the effects of alcohol, so that means once I start drinking, I really can't gauge myself well enough to know when to stop. Having this device has enabled me to objectively gauge my level of sobriety throughout the evening and keep my drinking within reasonable boundaries. Now, whenever I go out for fun on weekends, this is something I never go without!

That one got thrown angrily across my kitchen by a friend who thought they could drive home. Bactrack sent me a new one under warranty and it has worked for the last 8ish years. Recently I have felt it wasn't reading accurately and I could have sent it in for calibration, but I thought it was probably time for a new one as it has been used over 400 times. I really like owning this. I have a rowdy group of friends and it has helped me convince countless people that they can't drive.

If it gives you a reading under the statutory threshold of intoxication, that may be reassuring but it won't help you if you run into a law enforcement BAC test on the way home that differs from the reading you got on this device. But within reason, this device will give you a pretty good idea if you are too messed up to drive or far enough on the downside of statutory intoxication to drive safely if you drive carefully. But you drive carefully all the time anyway, right?

   My husband and I had two drinks and tried this out an hour later, also adhering to the 20 minute wait time: No food, no alcohol, no smoking, not even water. We both agreed that neither of us would have driven feeling like we did, even though we were technically under the legal limit. His was pretty close to spot on according to an online BAC calculator, but mine was actually lower than the BAC chart. Not a lot lower, but enough that there could easily be a difference that could put somebody over the legal limit on a different device.
