   This is the best stick incense burner I've used to-date. I've tried two different kinds of vertical incense burners as well as two horizontal burners. I've found the horizontal burners work better than the vertical ones because the horizontal burners take longer to burn. In my vertical burners, an 11" stick of my incense burns for about 1h; in a horizontal burner, it burns for about 1h 15m; but in this particular burner, my stick has already burned for 1-1/2 hours and I've still got 25% of the stick left!

   its design pleases me. The fact that it has magnets holding the lid on is genius. I do not use incense with wood sticks in it, rather joss sticks that one lays down onto ash. This incense tray contains a small, 2-sided removable liner made of non-flammable material on the bottom to protect the burner and presumably the surface below. I flipped the lining over so that the protective surface is “up”. As such, a lit joss stick can be safely used in this burner.

   I love the simplicity of its design and how easy it is to keep this clean after burning several incense sticks. The little square holder that isn't "glued" to the plate was designed for that reason. As long as you don't place this plate anywhere where you can accidentally knock it off the table, you'll be fine with getting used to having the holder not attached to the plate. I also think this holder designed for using with Japanese incense stick though.

   This incense burner is absolutely stunning in person. It is even prettier than the pictures and it is really heavy which I like. It was packed in a box very tightly with styrofoam and the other box had wrapping too, but the trunk of mine was broken off. I believe that's due to shipping and not the people who packed it. I was able to glue it back together very easily and you can't even tell. I would definitely buy this it's a very good talking piece.
