We are simply using felt to sew things (straight lines) as she doesn't really get the concept so I will save the little projects that are included for some later day (or grandchild). She'd told me that she wanted a sewing machine for her birthday, and I was a little worried that she would be disappointed that there was no thread, and that this wasn't a "real" sewing machine. She didn't seem to notice, and she had so much fun making little heart pillows! (So did her 3-year-old brother!) I bought extra felt from JoAnn Fabrics to go with the gift. It goes through batteries pretty quickly, but I would buy this again in a heartbeat!
