It took 4 large bags to fill (probably could have used 1/2 of another bag, but I didn't feel like going back to the store.)    They actually ended up being deeper than I'd anticipated and, when first filled with dirt, about half the edging material would flap around in the wind. However, we discovered that once you fill the planting bed half full of dirt, you can fold over the excess edging fabric on the outside to form a double-thickness edge that stays in place quite sturdily.

I have 2 pumpkin plants growing out of 1 bag and so far, so good! The plants seem healthy, which says a lot since pumpkins use lots of nutrients and have large root systems. Happy with this purchase.
