I was also surprised at its ability to pick up. The brushes and rollers do an excellent job in concert with one another. I'm ashamed to say I was apalled at the amout of material I found uin the dust bin and the sad realization I had been living in filth and was clueless. Do take your time in preparing the space by picking up items that might get trapped and rerouting wires to lamps and fixtures that it might become entangled in. I am totally pleased with its performance and would recommend it without hesiatation.
