   While I definitely feel that an actual car seat with padding on the sides and other protections especially for side impacts are probably more safe for daily use and I am not trading in my normal daily car seat for this, for travel, this is absolutely seeming like a safe option for occasional use where bringing along a car seat would be crazy difficult and impractical. It fit my daughter well and she seemed very comfortable wearing it, to the point where if we were just stopping for 20 minutes for a burger I'm not sure if I would take her out of the vest.

   We don't travel much, but are planning an upcoming trip in which we were really not looking forward to lugging car seats around, especially with multiple vehicles in the mix. I was researching possible solutions to our conundrum, and came across this. After a great deal of watching videos, looking at reviews online, and trying to understand how the various options for travel car seats work, this seemed to me to be the ideal option for limited use in travel. It essentially works by making the grown-up seatbelt fit a child's body and by distributing the support of the seatbelt more safely and comfortably around your child. The small is the perfect size for my 31 pound four-year-old with plenty of room for her to grow.

My daughter is 40” tall and she fits in it well. I love the fact that she can use this for a long time! Love the color combination too! Best part is how it folds up so nicely for travel or if you need to change vehicles so it’s not so big and bulky to carry around!

   When you think of something that might replace a car seat for a child you'd think it would have a million straps and tethers and just be a pain all around. Not true with this product. It actually is a lot easier to work with that most of the car seat strap systems I've used. You can simply put the vest on at home (and it's very easy to get on a kid), toddlers are pretty excited about them cause they look kind of like a police vest or some of sort of advanced apparatus. Once in the car, you simply guide the seat belt through the appropriate parts of the vest and snap it in as usual, really very easy. I do worry about a cop not knowing that these are street legal, but I imagine that could be resolved easily. We will be using this product in our travels and even at home if needed.

   I recently received my hifold that I purchased from their Indiegogo crowd funding campaign and am really impressed. hifold is super adjustable which means the seat belt can fit my 5 year old daughter perfectly and she says it is really comfortable. The other cool thing is that hifold folds down so that I can store it in the trunk and it is so light and comes with a carry strap meaning that I will be able to take it with on our next vacation.
