   I have several different "Swiss Army" type knifes and multi-tools. I bought this tool because none of them make good hammers when you need a hammer. Using them for hammering is an abuse of a knife or multi-tool. This small hammer is the right size for small pounding jobs. It has the heft to drive home small nails as long as the wood is not too dense. I would get a regular 16 oz carpenter's hammer for pounding spikes where I need the swing as it is rather short, but this will do for most small utility type jobs. The other aspects of this tool make it a useful utility knife and multi-tool. I expect to use this where I don't need a really good knife for the job or the more extensive tool set on my high end multi-tool.

But in cases where you need anything (that this tool has) when you didn't think you did, it's there to save the day. The other was intended to be a car tool to keep in the hubby's trunk so he'd also always have one with him. He left it on the counter long enough that it's now a house-tool. I haven't used it to hammer anything yet, but have used the knives, phillips screwdriver, and the plier/wrench function.

If I need something quick or handy for a simple (non industrial) quick fix, I can grab this tool and use it quickly. This tool is not good for construction jobs or heavy duty wood-working. It is a handy thing to have in your kitchen junk drawer, your glove compartment of your car, or your desk drawer for those quick tasks where you don't want to drag out your tool box. For tacking up a nail for hanging a small picture, for something small that you want to cut while in the yard or on a camping trip, this is a nice tool to have.

   This has turned out to be a very handy tool. I'm using it for all sorts of little projects around the house and it's nice not to have to go get a different tool every time I turn around. It feels solid, of very good quality, and I think it is likely to last a long time. I had to buy a second one of these because my son swiped the first one I bought. I can't blame him, I really like it too. I would recommend it to anyone who would like to keep a variety of commonly used tools in a limited space. It certainly tidies up my kitchen drawer. My son keeps his in the driver side door panel of his vehicle.

   I bought two different kinds of theses knives for Christmas gifts, and honestly I REALLY like the look of this one better. It is a bit bulkier than the other one I got from another seller, but overall I still really like the look and weight more. I guess it is all about preference? Comes with a little pouch to hold it, and is very sturdy/durable. I would buy again. I do wish it was prime though, not knowing when it would arrive was a bit stressful, but it got here way before Christmas so no complaints!

   I gave this to my dad for Father's day and he loves it. He has his own larger tools in the house but when it comes to easy small repairs, he leaves this in a designated spot since it doesn't take uo much space for easy fixes. One thing is that the back of the hammer has a clip to hold the back in place but his is a bit twisted so it doesnt hold in place well. I am not sure if it was just not durable or if him using it all the time loosened it. Either way still a great set and especially gift. Trust me, they will love it.
