   I use this for finding steel shot in waterfowl. I've had no trouble finding as small as #3 shot. It would probably work just fine for smaller shot, but I don't use any of the smaller shot sizes. This detector is very sensitive, and I've found that it false triggers sometimes on the screws under the counter top. So, I just hold the bird in the air, take off the wedding ring, and give it a good once over. Well worth the cost, vs a chipped tooth, or worse, someone else's chipped tooth! Highly recommended.

   I purchased these when I purchased my metal detector. I had a less expensive version from another company and was quite disappointed in its sensitivity, so I purchased the Garrett. It works flawlessly and is sensitive enough to pin down the metal I was hunting for. Highly recommended, don't waste you time or money on the cheaper versions, get what you want the first time through.
