   Order a size down from you currently wear. I was very much surprised that I still fit into a medium-regular coat. This coat does not "feel" like the one issued to me in 2021, but it does look nice. Warmth: it okay. the full synthetic liner does well in keeping your body heat in. Should cold air enter the coat, the warmth goes away relatively quickly. Fit: shoulder width feel good, the sleeves are quite long therefore making the coat look big on me.

   It took me 4 years of service to wear out my first one. This one I bought here in 2021 still looks like new though I clear snow and haul wood in it every winter. Few coats fit me as well as this for long wear. It's been washed and resprayed with scotchgard annually.

   One key factor I was looking forward to is the strong zipper securing the coat. My years old favorite winter coat had seen better days. The bottom of the zipper had worn and would not stay meshed together at the bottom if the slightest pressure was exerted at that point. The M65 field jacket's zipper should last a long time.

   Overall this is a very good jacket. It's fairly warm even without the liner attached, and seems to repel wind fairly well. The hood is concealed in a zippered pocket underneath the back of the collar. The only notable downside I have encountered is that the hood can sometimes bunch up weirdly when it is concealed in the pocket, making it slightly uncomfortable on the upper back. However the hood can actually be detached and removed just like the liner, so this issue is easy to fix. The amount of storage space is very good, much more than you would get with most jackets.
