It hurts a decent amount the first 5 minutes or so, but then the discomfort gives way to an ultimate relaxing feeling. Tension in your neck and back will be completely gone after 20 minutes on this thing. My husband has had major sleep issues for the past 13 years following a car wreck and he swears that he gets uninterrupted sleep every night he uses this and he isn’t one to sing the praises of products. My kids even enjoy using it.
