   I bought this chess set for my 5 year old son in 2019. Am writing this in 2021. It came with good packing. I love the set. It has a good style carved chess pieces in it. The wood quality is good for the price. We were playing often , but still haven’t seen any damages or rubber off from pieces. The thickness of the box is the right height from the base. I love the color combination. My little option is the head of the king little bit more carved to look better. The entire set looks amazing. Will definitely buy one for my sister too. Will definitely recommend this set for little kids. My son loves it a lot.

   My son got quite a few chess sets for Christmas. I purchased him this one and this set is by far his favorite. It is extremely well made, the case has a wonderful wooden aroma when you open it, and it looks expensive. All of the peices are snugly secured with bands, and the company even emailed a digital video teaching not only the basics, but also advanced strategies. It was a much better price than the other sets he got and hands down looks more lux than the others. I highly recommend this.

   So far we are loving this chess board! We went on a family vacation and a family member had a different board and it brought back so many childhood memories of playing and beating everyone! I hadn’t played in over 8 years, on this vacation I played 5 different people and couldn’t get over how much I have missed chess. I am a mom now and barely sit down and do something so relaxing! So I had to buy a new chess board and I’ve been playing with the husband every night now! I personally love this board, it’s very sturdy and I love that you can store the pieces so organized.    I ordered this for my 8 year old who just learned how to play. I am very pleased with this chessboard. The edges align well, the game board is symmetrical, the pieces are uniform, and it’s a great starter set for the price.
   I really like that both the board & the pieces are wood, not plastic. Each piece can be returned to it’s elastic strap when not in use, & the game becomes quietly portable; no loose chessmen to rattle about.

   I got a lot of presents for my boyfriend’s birthday, and arranged them all in assorted gift bags for his arrival home after work the night before the big day. I gathered an impromptu surprise get-together for the homecoming, and, once he arrived, I had him open the crowd-friendly gifts. I had gotten 6-7 different portable games, intended for use on our lovely roof deck - the social center of our building. Of all the presents he opened, this was by far his favorite! He loves chess, and needed a nice, portable set that he can take to play with friends, either on the roof, or at the local watering hole. He was thrilled with the smooth, wooden board, and loved that the pieces are securely stored inside. He said he has a little magnetic travel set that he got overseas, but is so glad he has a more presentable set for playing with friends in person (as opposed to via phone app). The pieces themselves are nicely carved and finished. I even got a post purchase e-mail from the seller, informing me that they will happily send replacement pieces should any ever be lost. All around great purchase, a perfect gift for any avid chess-lover, or beginners who need a portable set to take to, say, the park or a friend’s place to play.
