   Mine came with no issues at all. No broken pieces or anything wrong. Very nice set for this price. The price is so reasonable I can't really find any complaint, quite happy with it. Already played a game. The pieces could be a little more weighty but again at this price threshold they are perfectly fine. The board doesn't sit 100% flat but it's totally flat enough to play on without any issue. I may stick on small thin rubber feet to make it sit perfectly flat but then it likely won't clip closed without maybe slightly bending the clip. Again, it's like 99% flat.

I didn't want to invest a lot in a new board so I wasn't expecting such a nice finish on the board. the chess men while simple in appearance are nicely finished in wood. I also ordered the book chess for beginners so I could refresh, it has been very helpful as a refresher. Great when your confined to your house!

It's all one piece - very sturdy and when you're finished playing, fold it in half and it has latches on it to close. It's a very nice set and I'm glad I purchased this one.

All pieces looked great, the squares line up perfectly, and I always get eyes when I start setting it up and pulling the pieces out. I use it as my travel board and just keep it in the box that it came with for protection. A nice carrying case would be cool, but the box does fine in protecting it. Would absolutely recommend and would buy again.

Picked this item because of closed box all-in-one setup and also the low price. Didn't expect much. Figure in 2 months go buy a better one if he still likes chess. To my surprise, this set is great. Will keep this set and play for years. Solid box, felt feet and strapped piece storage, and overall quality. My wife even got on me for a moment thinking I paid 10-times more knowing how our 7 yr old might lose interest in 2 weeks. But she too was impressed with the price for the quality set and we all know how hard it is to impress a woman! (Just kidding ladies, sorta)

   The board is of nice quality and the details on each piece are better than I expected. This board folds in half and is lined with black velvet. There are two long elastic strips on each side of the inside of the board to hold the pieces in place when not in use. The pawns are a little difficult to keep in place with the elastic, so they may fall out of the elastic during travel, but that isn't really a big deal. As long as you don't drop the board it should last for years. My 12-yr-old son loves it.

   The plastic travel set I first bought is good for traveling, but it was too small to really enjoy playing chess. This set is just the right size. It is all wood with great craftsmanship. The board folds into a box to hold all the pieces. There are elastic straps inside to hold each piece so they are not bouncing around if you are carrying or traveling with this set. Good size board and much more fun that the tiny plastic ones. The best price too and great value. Thanks.

   My husband and I have been extremely happy with this chess set! We bought it because our previous chess set had been starting to fall apart from years of use, and we have been more than happy with it! The wood looks nice quality, and the ability to fold the chess set and put the pieces inside makes it extremely convenient to bring with as we travel. I end up playing chess twice as much just because the setup is so much easier than our previous set. 10/10 would recommend!
