   This has actually worked out quite well after moving into a rental that does not have a garbage disposal. I do have the very fine mesh strainer is over each drain, but this works very well to have in the corner when dumping out pans or plates to catch larger solids. Are usually dump the smaller dream catchers out into this and then dump it in the trashcan. You do have to wipe it out occasionally to get debris stuck to the edges but overall it's worked out very well for me.

   Love, love, love this product! I was worried about it taking up too much space but it's perfect. Fits snuggly in corner of my sink. Comes with 2 small adapters to choose from to fit your style sink. So nice to throw scraps into when cutting veggies etc instead of tossing in sink and having to scoop out of sink later (for those of us without garbage disposals). Drains the broths from soups etc so all you have to do is toss leftovers in trash. Cleans up quickly with a little swish of soapy water and reinstall easily. After I'm done in the kitchen I toss my sponge into strainer and drape dish cloth over the side to dry for the night as well. Cleared up my sink top to boot!

   I like having all my supplies handy and able to drain right in the sink. It's also nice because, I don't have a garbage disposal and I can scrape things or peel things right in the basket and then dump them in the trash. I have a larger sink on one side and a smaller sink on the other and it fits perfectly in the corner. It also has an extra piece to hang the basket on in case your sink is a different size.
