It's up to you to figure out where the best places are to catch the maximum amount of insects are. If this is the only light in the room they will definitely be attracted to it, so be sure to try to place it in dark areas where you think some of these insects might be hiding.    Spent a lot time searching for something small, effective, and simple. The other alternatives require sticky pads that you have to refill, this just traps the bugs and dries them out. I turn it on and within the hour flies just get sucked in. If you look closer at the blue circle there is a mosquito too.

By the end of the first week, we had about ten, ranging in size from tiny to very large, so it well no matter the size! We have also noticed we do not have buzzing around our ears at night anymore, and we 20 feet down the hallway. It seems to be attracting the mosquitos that fly through the hallways to get to each of the three bedrooms. I just bought a second one to put in the kitchen, and I believe we will be covered (2,500 sq. feet under roof) with two of them.

   It's not too loud. Its basically a small fan. I set it on top of a paper card to dampen vibrations and I forget its there. Pretty sure you don't want to look directly at the light for long. Make sure its the brightest light in the room overnight to attract bugs. Make sure you close the slats by twisting the top part if you are going to power it off to move it.

   Based on some of the reviews, I was skeptical too as to whether this unit would rid my kitchen of fruit flies. I'm happy to report that my fruit fly population has dramatically decreased to one lone survivor. Some might view this as overkill. I appreciate the compliment. Place the unit where the majority of your fruit flies are located and dangle the fly strip in close proximity. Approximately 48 hours later, problem solved.
