This lifting harness is great for our dog after her TPLO surgery. During the first week post-op, we used to support her hips and encouraged her to walk on all four paws. The video is 1 week post surgery and we do not have to help her much now but it seems that it is more of a comfort thing for her now since she will limp around at home if she does not wear rather than walk in all paws at a slower speed. The only thing she did not like about it was the straps that wrap around her rear legs, she refused to walk with them (perhaps I had them too tight?). However, after removing them she had no issue with the harness. I am glad that the company offered the rear section only since that is all we needed. For reference she is 49 lbs and the strap is pull as far as it goes. I would recommend for anyone else in our similar situation.

Got this to assist my senior dog in and out of the car as he has arthritis in his hips. He weighs 70lbs but has a thin 24in waste so we went with the medium & the adjustable straps made it a perfect fit. Very well made. He hesitates to walk or sit while it's on but I think it's just because he's never had a harness on his back end. Provides very good support when lifting & dog has shown no sign of pain or discomfort. The only inconvenience is that the belly strap sits right on his privates so it has to be unclipped for him to potty. It does have to be reclipped in place to keep the harness from sliding off his behind.

We purchased the rear harness because we already had an unrelated front harness that worked well with it. It is so easy to lift her now and she seems more secure to stand on her own. Katie has right rear hip arthritis and she was failing fast with inability to even get up on her own or stand to go potty. The rear harness allows us to hold her up as she goes and from a sitting or laying position. Once we figured it out, it is very easy to put on and take off at the end of the day. We are very pleased and thrilled that we found this Solvit Care Lift. We also give her Glycoflex Plus supplements and an anti inflammatory daily. She is doing better now than she has for approx. 1-2 years. She just had her 14th birthday on Halloween, and we are hoping we will be able to celebrate a few more with her. Thank you for this well made washable lift.. We could not be happier and Katie is loving life again...…….

I got the medium size for my 50lb Pitbull who's disc exploded in his back. The vet gave me a basic harness after his surgery but you could tell he was extremely uncomfortable as it fully covered his penis and lifted him from his abdomen. I believe it was adding pressure to his spine instead of relieving it. I bought this in a rush with same day shipping and I'm so glad I did. It holds him up from his back legs and has an insert to allow room for his penis so he can pee comfortably outside and not all over himself. This was the best this I could have found for him and I'm so happy to see how much more comfortable he looks.

Received this yesterday and tried it out this morning. Our Miniature Schnauzer is 13 and has some degenerative disk issues. His back legs became unsteady and he was having extreme difficulty walking. Put the harness on this morning and we were off to the races. He initially showed some trepidation but quickly got accustomed to the harness. No issues with peeing ot pooping! It takes a little time to get the fit right, but it's not complicated. I need to "tailor" the length of the straps, as there is a bit of excess, but it makes for a lot of adjustability. My dog and I are pretty happy with this.

Our boy moved from his wheelchair to front and rear harnesses. We hooked the rear one to his front jacket to prevent it from slipping off. The product comes with an optional “bottom” strap - which we are not using. We chose this product because he can do his business (poop & pee) without soiling the harness. We bought a medium, GSD weighs 65-70 lbs.

The only thing I don't like is that the side glasps sometimes come off easily, however they reattach easily once you get used to it, easy to wash. Excellent for an older dog with hip and knee issues in the back section.

This is great for our almost 16 year old senior golden retriever. He is 87lb and has bad arthritis in his back legs and hips. It allows us to help him with stability and having the handle makes it comfortable to hold him up. The only issue I've had is with the sizing. I ordered the large (70-130lbs) as recommended and it was too big. Even with the straps tightened as far as they'll go, it still slides off his back.

My corgi is 16 and can't use her back legs. This helps me let her pretend she is walking around the yard every day with a tolerable level of strain in my back. She poops freely in it, but she likes to stop to pee and I can tell when she wants to better when hand walking her. Sometimes she doesn't pee when I hand walk her in the morning, so I assume she just let it rip and didn't slow down while we were on the poop walk. She did not like slings before she completely lost use of her back legs. One leg went first and I used a leash around it to hold her up, and she wouldn't move in a sling then. If your dog has a progressive neurological disease, I'd say keep it for later if they won't use it. It doesn't seem any better or worse than ones costing way more. I wish I'd gotten her a cart now. At this point she's two years older than my next longest lived dog, so I lost the bet that she wouldn't use it for long. She can stay as long as she wants, and this makes it easier to take care of her.
