How to use:

  1. Seal food in a vacuum bag, and place them in a water bath.
  2. Press the ON button for 3 seconds and then it will bleep and the display will turn on. The display will show the current temperature.
  3. Set timer to delay the start of cooking time. Or press set button again to set actual cook time, called “work time” on this unit (which only starts counting down once water has reached the correct temp)
  4. Set the temperatures / timer using the black scroll wheel on the front.
  5. When the food reaches the target temperature and time, take it out, and serve it.

    I was curious about sous vide after staying at my sister's house when she was talking about it. I was thinking that I would get the most nutrition from veggies. So far I have only done infusions and meat after reading the cookbook that came with the package. I just had to try steak. My husband doesn't always want to eat at normal times, but I have to eat at regular intervals for my diabetes. I started the steak early and took mine out at 2 hours and my husband had his at 4 hours. They were both medium-rare, but his was more tender than mine. His only complaint was that it wasn't seasoned enough, I didn't season as much as normal as I thought that the sous vide would intensify the flavor. Next I will be going for a 12 hour pork for tacos. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars for ease of use is that I am having trouble with the touch buttons on top, I have to punch too much. I hope that after it is used more that they will improve. But I wouldn't give it up for anything. I love suits vide!

This was hands-down the best, most tender, juicy turkey we have ever had. The beauty of sous vide is that moisture cannot escape from the item you are cooking! The meat literally fell right off the bone after 26 hours in a hot bath of water. I was able to give the outside a good crisp outside by putting it on the pellet grill (or oven would work) for about 45 minutes.

Fruit mashed under pressure. Too big to sit out and hard to get in and out to use. Have to clear a space to use it and we are getting older and it's just too much trouble. This works and we love it. Cooked a 3 lb. chuck roast salt, pepper and 2 cloves of garlic at 135 for 1 1/2 hours it was absolutely, better than the prime rib I had just 4 days ago. Use ca flat top grill with butter or a cast Iron skillet on high to sear it good and Boom!! Your taste buds will love you!!! DO NOT USE A PROPANE TORCH IT WILL MAKE IT TASTE LIKE PROPANE

    Overall I love this product. The Sous Vide itself is easy to use and cooks meat properly. It took a few tries to get the "doneness" I was looking for in different cuts and thickness of steaks. I used a metal pot for a while then made a container for it by cutting the side to a plastic container I already had. (The clamp on the outside wouldn't let me put it where desired and I didn't want to use gallons of water each time). The bags are okay. I wasn't expecting high quality in them as they are reusable and you have to hand pump the air out. They can be a bit tricky to clean. But it saves me from have yet another piece of kitchen gear by getting a vacuum sealer. I do suggest seasoning before putting in the bags. Personally, I use coarse kosher salt, pepper, onion powder, garlic powder, and sometimes I smash a garlic clove or two and through them in the bag as well. Patting the steaks dry after is CRUCIAL! Pull the steaks and pay dry and rest for 5 mins. Heat pan before adding any oil. Avocado oil has a high smoke point and I suggest it if you don't want to set off your fire alarm. I also add butter once I've flipped them and then baste.
