There was a little bit of a learning curve, but once I figured it out, the process was lickety-split. The pictures on the side of the box are indispensable. Two warnings: Make sure you have the plastic flanges on the outside of the cob - sometimes that takes a bit of manipulation - and make sure the plunger is out. I first tried to use the twisting method, but that was slow and hard on my wrists. I found that for most cobs, I could just push the corer down and it'd go all the way down. When it'd get stuck, I'd put a dishtowel over the top and hit it a few times with a rolling pin and that did the trick.

I was very skeptical at first. Was not sure if I should go for it. I read a few of the reviews and decided to spend my hard earned money on it. (it was either that or a couple six packs of cold ones!!!) Turns out the product works great! The more uniform the ear of corn the better it works. If you have very small or twisted ears they don't always stip off very well. Take those ears and feed them to your chickens, its not worth the time. I did have some large ears that just fit in the tub, I did have to push a little harder to get them stipped. So if you have real big corn like the guy from the midwest you will have trouble with this unit. Anyway, it works great and I will recommend it to my friends.
