   Why didn't I buy one of these years ago? I just received this last week and using it, made my life so much easier and cleaner. Anyone who has ever cut corn off a cob, know the spraying mess it creates. This little tool, works so well, without that mess. Some reviews have stated that it was hard to clean. I found it quite easy. The entire thing dis-assembles and cleans quickly. Some people have said the ears won't fit. I have yet to have this issue.

   When your cut the kernels from the cob the kernels stay in the cylinder. They do NOT pop off, flying all over. This year our family prepped and canned over 200 quarts of corn and these strippers were used to separate the kernels from the cobs for all of it. They are still going strong. we decided that if, in the future, we needed to replace these, it would be with more of the same.

   We love fresh corn but I often have put off cooking it because shucking it is messy. I often cut through some kernels with the knife, they spray all over and it takes an extra dish to catch them in the process anyway before I plate it or else it makes for a messy dinner plate. This gadget is worth every penny! No muss, no fuss and even though multiple pieces to wash, a whole lot easier than chasing corn kernels around the kitchen!

   My wife cannot eat corn from the cob. The past few years I have been using a rather large and cumbersome knife - it is really sharp and touching your skin will cut you. Saw this and said what the hell. Works amazing. You do miss the top part of the cob but quite often that part is free of kernels anyway. Sorry I sound like an ad but this has saved me a lot of time and energy. Now my corn is hot too!

   Love, love, love this corn stripper! My family loves creamed corn, especially with fresh corn off the cob and this tool makes it so easy to strip the corn as well as the "milk" from the corn husk. If you've ever made "Southern Style" creamed corn (using thick cream and some bacon drippings) you will love having this tool. I also use it to freeze fresh corn so I can take advantage of fresh corn at great prices--it takes a lot less room in the freezer to store just the corn without the cob. One word of caution: read the directions! It's simple to use but I didn't read the instructions and just put the corn in the tool and tried plunging down, it wasn't going down at all. I was ready to return it but it took my 12 year old granddaughter to figure out I had the plunger inside the slider. The solid yellow plunger is used to remove the stripped cob from the plunger! Another thing to remember, when screwing the bottom on/off, look at the arrows for "open" and "close" or you will think it isn't going on properly. I've had the best luck cutting the top off and putting that in the bottom so I am sliding from small to large. Also, I don't remove the bottom after each corn cob, I just remove the top and shake into a bowl, much less messy than unscrewing the bottom.

   We first used this product when my elderly mother-in -law could not eat corn on the cob. We live in Wisconsin (best sweet corn ever!), so we didn't want her to not be able to enjoy it with us when we had it every night in the summer. After she passed, we realized we could make a few extra ears of corn, use this little gem to shuck the kernels and freeze them so that we could enjoy our awesome sweet corn any time of the year; and that is exactly what we do. This item is easy to use and clean (in the dishwasher) and we are able to enjoy the corn year-round. We take it to Thanksgiving, Christmas and all other celebrations and everyone loves having "fresh" sweet corn. Great product.

   I love this gadget. for so many years I had to use a very sharp knife to strip the kernels and make a huge mess. Then I tried a gadget that you push a very sharp edges down the cob and kernels went every where! Then I say this gadget. It contained the kernels almost mess free. I bought myself one. The other day my daughter saw it and made a comment about about wanting something just like it. I bought her one. It really is easy to use and easy to clean. There is just one thing you have to remember, or 3 things. The first is the cob size and the second is to put it in end first. Oh yeah the most important thing to remember --- remove the yellow plunger until you are ready to remove the core. works great on uncooked and cooked corn.

   I finally got to use this. I would not say it is sufficient to use for canning corn, but I loved it for just removing the kernels on a few ears. Best to have the end flat that you put on the holder part. Stays more secure that way. This is the best one I have found.
