   After hemming and hawing over the smaller or larger version, I purchased the larger version for car camping. I still might purchase the smaller version for backpacking, but I'm not sure how likely it will be that I'd be carrying fresh meat on a backpacking trip to make carrying the smaller version in my backpack for multi day, possibly a week and a half trips. Anyway, for car camping or bbq-ing in a city park at a music festival (especially if traveling via public transportation) this thing is great. It folds flat, comes with a carrying bag and if you use Matchlight charcoal, you can skip carrying lighter fluid. Was able to grill dinner for three (decent sized burgers) and could've fit a fourth burger if needed. This larger version could easily fit in a backpack as well, but if you plan on using charcoal you might want a second or third person along to split the weight. If you're planning on using wood to cook over or just for a fire to watch in the evening then I'd say using this on a backpacking trip is still doable. I guess it depends upon how much weight you can carry and what your priorities are for that one or two “luxury items” we all want to bring on a backpacking trip. The quality is sturdy, I can tell this will last a good while. I'm quite happy with my purchase.

   Love, love, love this firepit and grill! After only being given wet firewood by the park ranger station, I could not get a campfire goung to save my life. I have my Coleman stove, but had really wanted to grill some chicken over an open flame. This morning, I set up my Flatpack grill on the (stone) campground table with some charcoal and a few pieces of fat pine, and it is going great. I can't wait to cook my kebabs with it! It may be my campfire tonight too - at the very least, it will be perfect for making s'mores!

   I have actually been wanting one of these for a long time. I got the large model which is 13 x 10. It's a pretty straightforward easy to set up flat-pack Grill. I got this to use on road trips as well as at home to grill simple foods like brats burgers and hotdogs. It folds down flat to a little bit thinner than a laptop. I used to use a Weber Smokey Joe but it was non compactable and a bit clunky to store in the vehicle. I also plan on using this as a little fire pit outside to roast marshmallows with my kids. For the price of this you just can't go wrong!

   Portable, lightweight, simple and stainless of decent gauge! I did have to cut a very small piece out of the grate to make it sit flat and square but was simple fix. If I had to point anything out as a complaint it would be the way the grate wire run. When you use it width wise its hard flip a burger without lacing the spatula between the grate! Not a big deal, I am really hapy with the grill!

   This is amazing! I wish I could give it more stars. I've found no downside. It's well engineered and built. Camping, hiking, beach, 4x4s...doesn't matter. Keep one in the trunk of the car. It's the size of a laptop and has room in the carry case to also keep a pair of bbq tongs and a spatula.I even use it at home with my 9 yr old who likes to grill but is a bit intimidated by the big grills.
