   It's not that the item is too big in my opinion. But I wear these to the beach, and even at my normal size (8in) the dragged my feet a bit like flippers. The next size down still fits since it's stretchy and it doesn't drag in the water nearly as bad. I tend to buy a new pair every year or 2, so as long as they last me the week/summer they are solid. I need them cause the bottom of my feet are super sensitive in both the sand and on shells. I walk to and from the beach in these. They are a little tight to get on and off, but I'll take that over loosing one in the waves! All in all I love it, but if you're gonna be in the ocean, I'd order a size down

   They did really well at keeping sand and rocks from penetrating and getting in. After using ,the insert it came with curls a bit when dried but no issue. I'm happy with my purchase. I bought them for kayaking. Why I say..I would order one size down is the length is alittle long - my foot moves around freely. I don't like that because I want good fit when maneuvering kayak in and out of water. But again, I love them and ordered another pair!

When I first got them I saw how thin the bottoms are and wondered how they would keep from hurting my feet, so I took a walk in the gravel in didn't have any pain at all.    I wanted a minimal shoe to protect my feet from oyster beds and tree roots and unseen sea-floor hazards when I started kayaking 10 months ago. These have done the job beautifully, allowing me to get in and out of the kayak on all sorts of ground without worrying about my feet. I've walked on top of sharp oysters and not felt a thing. The shoes slip on and off very fast, so they don't encumber my routine. When I'm back from a paddle, I rinse them off while they're still on my feet, and leave them outdoors to dry.

   I bought this color for my boyfriend and the mint color for myself and we both loved them. We went tubing down a river and they worked perfectly to help us walk over the rocks. The bottoms are on the thin side and flexible but I liked that because I did not feel like my feet were trapped for the 5 hours we were floating.
