   I've had this mat for over a year and use it all the time. I do everything from stretching, yoga, and ab exercises on this mat. It feels very stable on my feet and the peacock design has not worn away over its use. There also isn't a strong odor on this mat that comes with other mats. I love it!!

   The material is dense despite being thinner than other yoga mat options but thicker mats can compress more and if your foot sinks into the mat you can fall over. Not a problem with these mats at all, footprints and handprints don't show up on this mat and it helps cushion you from the ground without stability loss. The colors are super vibrant too and it comes in many options. Just got another one cause my yoga partner and I used to fight over who got to use the nice Gaiam mat for our session. Now we don't have to share. Doesn't smell a lot and wasn't super curled up when it arrived. The insert also mentions wiping the mat down with water before your session to help keep it sticky if you sweat a lot. The only downside is that sometimes the texture that helps it stay tacky can leave imprints in your skin, my elbows get a little raw if I hold a pose for awhile and I am pressed to the mat.

   t has a really nice thickness to it that provides a good amount of cushioning, but I don't sink in or feel my feet slipping during poses. It's sticky, but not too sticky. Most importantly, it doesn't move around on carpet, which is important since the only space I have to practice in my small condo is carpeted. (I tried out a few mats that made me feel like I was trying to balance on a banana peel because they constantly moved on the carpet, so that is something that was very important to me!)

   You dont have to worry about slipping! Slipping on studio flooring does happen! Make no mistake with some mats. I know its happened to me. With that being said I would suggest for users with back problems consider talking to your orthopedic doctor about securing a floor mat thats much thicker. These mats are great for people who exercise and require cushion but not many inches of thickness to perform floor work. I say this because I have a slipped knee cap and these work fine for me. Someone like my mother with a slipped spinal disc may not get the support they need so play it safe double or triple up the mats or talk to your doctor about your best options before committing. Gaiam is an excellent company and theyd tell you the same. They care about their consumers and put out great products.
