This chopper cuts down on veggie prep, especially when making large quantities. The dicing platform is small, so you still need to reduce the size of the vegetable/fruit to fit. Reducing the thickness of the vegetable/fruit helps push down the lever a lot easier. For some vegetables and fruit, it would be quicker and easier to use a knife but it makes dicing onions, potatoes and some salad items a breeze. A quick rinse, and it's clean.
