Seems to be pretty good! I got this to put in my shed but the shed is metal and don't get good reception. It sits on top my fridge now and I listen while I do dishes. This is not meant to charge your phone except only in an emergency. Small and doesn't take much space. Gets quite a few stations. Clarity is much better than I expected! Happy with purchase!

I bought this to be weather ready, We live in deep south Mississippi and it can be tornadoes any day and time of year and of course hurricane season is June to October...so need this for when we have to "hunker down". I thought it was a little larger, but it does say pocket size. It has solar and you can wind it to charge. awesome radio and light and phone charger and etc-

This is touted on a lot of preparedness sites as an excellent back up radio in case power is lost. However, once I received it and read the pamphlet thoroughly, I learned that the owner MUST provide a "trickle charge" for the lithium battery EVERY 3 MONTHS via the solar charge feature or that battery may end up deader than a door nail in an actual emergency. This is NOT a buy-it, put-it-on-the-shelf and forget-about-it radio. Chances are good to excellent that if you put it your emergency supplies and don't touch it for a year, it may only be good as a tiny little doorstop.

Only thing I would change would be to have somewhere on the product to store the charging cord, besides that it's a great emergency radio and flashlight. Sound quality is as good as it can be for something this small, but it makes up in battery storage and how bright the flashlight is.

I'm as wilderness-loving as the next person, but I'm really worried of one day not having a working flashlight if a really bad earthquake hits. Now this is mainly for the scenario that I am able to get in my car and drive away from the tragedy. I could move this to my go-back if I need though.

Pros and cons in the reality for the purpose of it. This product was made for emergency/survival situations for NOAA emergency broadcast reception, flashlight, and phone charging capability to about the 15% range if your phone battery is 3000mah. The reason for this last point on phone charging capability is that the internal battery of the radio is 1000mah and it only uses about half that to charge whatever device you're charging. Remember this is only supposed to be enough for an emergency phone call (but that may not be enough especially depending on the phones battery life capability), even though this has more to be desired in this area, the unit is still an excellent unit that one should buy and have in ones emergency kit until good becomes better, in other words, they make an upgraded version of this radio.

I love it! For some reason it's smaller than I expected despite the fact that they do show the correct proportions in their images, but it doesn't matter, it delivers on all the features. Crank is easy to crank, the radio works great and the NOAA station is great especially for emergency times. I love that it can act as a phone charger. Don't know how well the solar works but it couldn't hurt to put it in the sun to charge. I love that this is also chargeable with a USB - I will likely charge it whenever a storm is coming. The LED light is much brighter than I expected, but it's not like those strong LED tactical flashlights - nothing like that, but unlike other inexpensive small flashlights it brightens up a dark area pretty strongly. More than enough light to help you get around or even to read with. I am thinking of buying more to give as gifts - I probably will, to be honest. I think everyone should have at least one so I will get them as Christmas gifts for my family.
