   This is amazing! It is a felter not a sewing machine but literally perfect for my 5 and 7 year olds. It comes with 5 very easy projects and then any felt from Walmart or anywhere works to make anything you can imagine. We made a cat bed and a loot llama just for fun and all made with $.32 felt. Awesome machine! I love that it's battery operated too so you can take it anywhere!

   My daughter loves to draw a design on the felt and then sew (felt) on the lines she drew. She has a lot of fun with it, and I love that it keeps her entertained and I don't have to help her rethread it every few minutes, which is what happens with kids and sewing machines. Also, it has a great clear plastic safety surround around the needle so kids won't get poked.

   I purchased this for a gift, because my grandaughter got one last year and while working on crafts recently found it to be sew much fun. Safe, easy to operate, and fuses flat felt for projects, like Christmas ornaments. My grandchildren began designing clothes for their "Elf on the Shelf", making sleeping bags, etc. This is a wonderful machine to let kids develop a relationship with crafts and sewing.    Oh my gosh, my 9 year old loves this. It's a felter, not an actual sewing machine, which is why it doesn't need thread. But that is great because kids can use it without help. And when you run out of the felt that comes with it you can pick up basic felt from Walmart or here on Amazon and it works great with the machine.

We have had fun making doll pillows, sleeping bags, and simple dresses plus pouches, animals, etc. I do not know how to see at all and my daughter and I have had fun creating with this!

   This kit is fantastic for teaching young children how to follow a straight line for sewing and how to guide fabric when sewing, even though this has a complete plastic barrier so that it is impossible for your child to injure themselves on the needles if properly used. My son (age 5) has wanted to sew like I do for a year now. We tried the children's sewing machines that use thread but those always seemed to break and be unable to grab the thread from the bobbin below.

To test this, I used flat felt from the craft store and although it was a tad thicker than the felt projects included in this package, it worked. This feature extends the life of this set since you are not restricted to just the included projects. Your kids can design their own project and then "needle felt" it together themselves.

   I don't often write reviews but this is amazing. I agree that it's more of a felter but it makes the child feel she's sewing and there's no way she can get hurt so for my independent daughter this is great because I can let her do her own thing. We will pick up some felt from the store so she can do her own projects once the ones included are done (which will take about a half hour). We watched a couple videos on line and off she went. Honestly the most favorite Christmas gift she got!
