My cat loves being outside, but was traveling a little too far beyond my backyard so I bought the Tractive so I could monitor her movements. Wearing the Tractive device on her collar does not bother her at all. It is lightweight and she doesn't seem to notice it. Except for rare occasions where the wifi is a little glitchy, I can track exactly where she is when she is out and about my neighborhood. If I want her to come home, I remotely turn "on" the sound and light on her collar, and she immediately comes home (I can actually watch her coming home on my computer or cell phone). I don't know how she came to associate the ringing & lights with a signal to come home but she did - and it works every time. This device is amazing and I never have to worry and wonder where my cat is.

This has really helped me go on trails with my dog and allow him to be off leash. He had previously tried to catch a deer (didn't happen) and I was frantic that I had lost him. This gives him the freedom to be a dog and me the freedom to allow him to run free and not need to be a marathon runner. I have it set to power saving mode (white light) so that when we are home it's not wasting power. When we are out, I change to the live setting (usually about an hour per day) and it lets me know exactly where he is. In the power saving mode, the battery can last for days. I don't know what battery life would be on another setting or continuously on live. I hope I never really need Tractive to find my dog but it is my security blanket!
