When I first opened it I had to let it run for about 3 hours before the air flow was strong enough to feel (which is stated to do in the instructions) I fill it up with cold water and sometimes even throw some ice cubes in if its really hot during mid day. I own 2 of these coolers and love them

Reservoir is generous and easily allows full ice cubes to be used. Ambient lighting and timer are a bonus. I use it for sleeping and am able to get 6-8 hours of cool sleep. Ive tried several other brands to no avail; this one is a keeper!

   I love this evaporative cooler! It makes a positive difference in a dry climate for my dog and I. I got this ahead of the recent west coast heat wave and it works particularly well when paired with box fans. It definitely doesnt cool a whole room as mentioned by others, but it keeps you relatively cool and comfortable in 90-100+ degree heat. Especially when you are trying to sleep on a warm night or binge watching shows. Highly recommended!

Ofcourse its not as good as an air conditioner but definitely cools the 90sq feet a bit, and does extremely well at cooling the air it is pointed at. We travel full time with a dog so it is nice for short periods of time we can leave it pointed at his area when we run in to the grocery store and helps keep him cool along with our vent fan. Would definitely buy again.

   Im not sure why all the other negative reviewers just cannot understand that swamp coolers only work in DRY climates. If there is humidity in the air, this just will not work. It will not cool warm, humid air. I dont understand how you can buy a swamp cooler for a humid climate and then be upset that it doesnt work. Anyway, in the foothills of the Rockies where there is typically 20-30% humidity, it works amazingly. I left it running in my small apartment for a few days and it had cooled the apartment from 86 degrees down to 75. Definitely recommend if you live in a dry climate but dont want to purchase an AC unit.

   I filled the tank, plugged it in, figured out how to work it and am 'chillin' all within less time than it took to grab the package from the front door and unbox it. We'll see how it stands the test of time. It uses some crazy omni-porous basalt for the filter, so it's supposed to never need changing. The last desktop cooler was so cheap it wasn't even branded. So far, I am enjoying this unit immensely. I recommend it. Remember, it's NOT AC so don't expect that kind of cooling but it works great.

   Very portable and small. I almost gave it a bad review, as when I turned it on it smelled of plastic, I have it on for15 mins and the smell was gone. I agree with the other reviews, it is not to cool a room, you have to be directly in front of it to get the cool air. I didnt want to run the central a/c only for one person. This worked perfect for me. I might try using it in my car for the back passengers as they always complain of not getting enough cold air.
