   Extremely good at self priming. If you modify yourself a quick and dirty release, you can use this thing as a pretty excellent siphon starter. A lot of these units get a bad rep because people think they are worthless because they won't self prime, but often I suspect they are simply encountering the hard limit on how far vacuum can move water. It's entirely possible to remove all the air from a tube and that still not be enough to prime, in which case your only option is to prime from the other end.

   This is absolutely the best drill driven pump I've ever seen. Unlike the cheap plastic pumps you can get locally for half the price, this thing is really made well and pumps a ton of liquid. The body is made of something that feels like steel but I think it's some kind of very hard plastic. The treads are very hard and exact and it's put together like an American made product would be. You will even notice in your first use that they put some grease in the impeller to make sure you don't burn it up during first use. So it would be a good idea to run water through it to expel the grease like I did. It's a great little pump and like I said, I could not find anything like it locally, so I bought another one from Amazon just to make sure it's never discontinued or something if or when I ever need a replacement. Although I expect this one to last for a very long time. You can't go wrong, I'm serious.

   Darn thing works! Our travel trailer only carries about 18gal of fresh water and it iisn't unusual for use to dry camp for a week or two in national parks. Holding up 5gal cans on a regular basis gets old. Once you figure out witch way to run the drill, it will empty a can faster than it will pour into my inlet. You will need to recharge your batt when you are done. Just used it for water. recommend it.

   I was actually dumbfounded how well this actually works!! I used it to suck a bleach mixture out of a 5 gallon bucket into my RV fresh water tank. It sucked 5 gals out of the bucket in under a minutes. I connected a 5 foot water hose to the inlet side and hooked the outlet directly to my RV fresh water tank. (It’s a female hose connection not your typical open hole water inlet) the suctions was powerful enough it was trying to collapse the 5 foot water hose!! Couldn’t ask for it to work any better

   Purchased to use at the lake to transfer water from my 6gal jugs to my RV. Was a little skeptical, but this pump works like a charm! had 18 gallons transferred in only a few minutes using a cordless drill! highly recommended! Sure beats trying to hold 6 gallon jugs up and pouring through a funnel!
