This is my first use case. I mounted it to a board and drove it with a corded skill drill--much as the packaging illustration shows. I sucked water out of the kiddie pool through a ~50' vinyl garden hose and pushed out a ~100' hose. The surface was level. The pressure was good. There was no smoke or other issues. Took some Trial and Error to figure out which was IN/OUT. There were NO LEAKS on this first try, which is critical when there are water and electricity nearby. I didn't have to do any priming. It's loud! May want to lube in future. who knows.

These can make a great irrigating system using a rain barrel for a small yard or garden. It can be mounted on a railing if one is close to your rain barrel or you can make a stable platform. It would be good to use if you have some basement flooding. Since I wouldn't recommend using an electric powered drill while standing in water you will need decent high powered battery operated drill. My old Craftsman 19.2 v wouldn't crank the pump but my electric powered drill did well.

I screwed it to a 12 inch 2x6, made some legs for the 2x6 and hooked my drill to it. OMG this little pump is a go getter. Pumped out a 55 gallon barrel in about 15 minutes. Works great for that purpose.. I used a 15 foot garden hose for end in barrel and a 25 foot hose for the other. Pumped a full stream. You need a pump for small jobs this is the one you need will not be disappointed.

I tried a larger hose because I couldn't get the half inch hose on the unit and it wouldn't prime. I simply used a 2" piece of 5/8 hose and used silicon to seal a half inch hose inside the 5/8 homemade adapter, Works like a charm now! Sounds complicated but it's easy to do.

Needed something to help drain out an aquarium. Attached this to the drill and possibly a 1/4th of the time, I was done! I recommend a strong-powerful drill. Glad it's self-priming, that helps tremendously. I highly recommending attaching this to a large & wide plank of wood. The torque of the drill and pump will turn in your hand(s), having it attached makes a huge difference.

This pump worked great to suck fluid out of tractor tires. It has some torque resistance to it. HIGHLY recommend a corded 1/2” drill, if possible, and you will need to have the pump secured to something.....and a good grip on the drill. Also, use a quality suction hose! I started out with a cheap garden hose setup, and it sucked it flat (however, I was pulling fluid from a tire...there was no way to alleviate vacuum). And, there are arrows indicating intended flow direction....one needs to set drill rotation for fluid to go around the impeller, not across the top. I’m very pleased with the construction of the pump and it should last a long time with cleaning and light lubrication after each use. (I sprayed silicon inside, before storage)

Use mine for aquarium maintenance on ground level tanks/sumps. Works great. Only downside is you have to attach the pump to a good piece of lumber to keep it from twisting. These are so cheap I’d recommend mounting this drill pump to the inside of your tank stand or rubbermaid cart @ a convenient height wherever you need it so u can depress the drill w/1 hand & vacuum with the other hand. Works well for vacuuming the bottom of tanks @ low heights when no better option is available. For higher heights I’ll use an electric pump whenever possible for ease.

The Drill Pump works exactly as advertised. I suspect people who weren't successful using it did not stay within its limitations. We live on a pond with 16 other houses. There is a large wooden privacy fence that we decided to cover with some plantings. There were 35 plants that need watering two to three times a week. I had a 6 foot leader hose (much less than the maximum 12 feet) for the intake. Through it into the pond and attached a 20 foot hose on the outflow. I used my DeWalt Drill with the larger battery and proceeded to pump the pond water to the plants. Occasionally some muck got clogged the intake. I just take it off and shake it out. I did follow some recommendations to open the pump and lubricate with lithium grease. I run it quite a bit and it has not failed yet.

Awesome new drill attachment, but I was tripped up by the gender-bender of the fixtures... my hot tub also has a standard hose fixture, so I have to use a female-female hose adapter with this product; alternatively, I let my spa gravity-drain as normal, but then I also use my additional hose to add suction directly from the tub (no adapter required -- probably a higher total flow rate, too).
