I got this for when my niece and nephew visit. I live a bit off the beaten path, so I get to see a lot of stars anyway, but I have an app that notifies you when certain things happen, solar flares, ISS flies over, etc. within your viewing area. I thought it would be neat to have a telescope to show the kids a closer view of some of these things, and boy was I right. They spent every night of the week they were here outside playing with it, which also let them burn off a bit more energy since it's winter and gets dark early. It's nothing fancy, which also means it's really easy to use, but it suits our purposes and it seems to be triggering an interest in my niece who has started bringing space books over with her so she has more things to look at when she comes over.

This was fairly easy to assemble. There were a couple steps that I felt were left out or unclear but for the most part it’s already together. I would definitely recommend adult assistance. It’s fun to use. Obviously you can’t expect professional results but it’s a cool tool/toy level telescope. Would be a good starter for a kid just getting into astronomy or for a group of kids that might cause damage until they learn how to handle a telescope. The parts feel like good quality.

This telescope is meant for children's science and educational purposes. It doesn't really work like a real telescope would, as if to see the moon or anything in outer space. It was easy to setup even without proper directions. Not the most durable but it was inexpensive. The kids had fun for about an hour until my son decided it was better to pretend it was a blaster or a sword. So it still gets used to this day.

Such a cool telescope for your stargazing kiddo! It’s perfectly sized for children 6-10 and is completely functional. It required some simple assembly and we were looking at the stars in no time. My 6 year old loves it, and is completely obsessed with planets and stars.

This works well and he's enjoying using it quite a lot. I can't say it's the best, but the one we use is a large and expensive unit from a relative, where this is a nice unit made for our kids, so we quite like it and I am definitely glad to have something he can use that isn't a family heirloom. Good luck in your search.

A good beginners telescope for young children like ours (ages 6 and 2). This allows our kids to sit out on the deck and look at the moon and nearby objects. Our kids are excited with sky watching and conversations around satellites, stars and eclipses.

This is a good gift for the scientific kid in your family. It’s a bit cheaply made but the magnification does allow you to see things in the sky beyond what you can see with binoculars. It’s worth the low price it sells for.

My son and I were able to easily adjust the eyepieces and see the moon and a few stars. He was excited to spot things right away. I liked the tripod feature, but my 8 year old felt more comfortable holding the telescope to view the sky. We'd love to take this on our next trip up to the mountains where the sky is a lot clearer and there are more stars to look at than in the city.
