I keep this outside on my small upstairs patio. At first it looked like my puppy was just going to try to tear it up but luckily he has learned to pee and poop there for the most part. I really wanted this because 1) it looks nicer than a pee pad 2) I know dogs are particular about texture so if your potty training a dog from your small apartment but eventually want him to go poop or pee outside in the future this would be good for you ! 3) you don't have to clean it right away. This item will hold a good amount, just beware of the clean up. I don't have a hose so I would have to clean this in my sink because eventually you'll need to rinse it off once in a while. I also found that it helps to put pee pads in the bottom to help with easy clean up. This size is for my three month puppy and works pretty well. If you don't have a small dog breed or puppy, I'd suggest getting the large.

I have a toy poodle, so that means she has a very small bladder and tummy. This has been so helpful in potty training. She absolutely will not use puppy pads (even with the sprays or previously used ones), but used these instantly. As well as when I'm away at work this is in her "play room" (the sun room) so she has somewhere to go throughout the day. I placed puppy pads in the tray for clean up. She's uses them very regularly with few accidents. Actually most accidents still happen pretty close to the "grass". I bought 2, thinking of getting 2 more so its more of a potty area.

The product was great, just as expected! The mat was purchased for my small, ten week old Shih Tzu. I would recommend getting a medium for a small dog. If you are purchasing for a large dog then definitely buy a way bigger mat than a medium! Overall, I liked the product & my pup liked it as well. At first she wasn’t too fond of it but she came around to it. I have it out on my balcony, since I live in an apartment. I placed pee pads under the artificial grass, to assist with making cleaning easier.

My 8 week puppy loved this! He uses the puppy pads already but does prefer grass so I put the puppy pads under the grass mat. Few hours later when he was inside the house alone he used it! I will say poop is gross taking off the fake grass but if you can wait for it to dry then pick up the poop. Or use wet wipes to pick up right away and then rinse with soap and water in the sink for any left overs. I've only had it for a day so not sure if odor is coming from it yet but I will be sure to rinse it. No sign of allergic reaction either but he does take allergy meds in the morning anyways

I used to use the regular shmegular puppy pads. I even bought a holder to make it easier for my pup to "go" in the right place. He was doing great until I got him neutered. Then everything changed! He ended up refusing to pee on the pads, and only wanting to pee outside. When I would leave for work he would have accidents since I don't think his bladder is that strong (he still pees out of excitement). I decided to give this a try since I didn't want to deal with constantly ordering a fresh patch every other week due to the maintenance and cost. So as usual I come home to a mess, which I cleaned up and ended up using the soiled paper towels under the piece of "grass". When it was time to go, I walked him over and TAH-DAH! like magic he sure peed on the "grass". I continued to train him to pee there using treats and praise and I've had to make sure he goes on his own without the leash and sure enough he has finally realized that this is an acceptable place to relieve himself. It definitely takes some training but with patience and consistency I do believe it will work for most dogs. Based on the reviews, I also put a puppy pad at the very bottom of the tray and it definitely makes cleaning up a lot easier!

was skeptical as it looked fake to me and i though even a puppy would knew. my 13 weeks old bulldog has been using one entire floor of the house as her potty when i gave up locking him in cage when nobody is home. i couldn't deal with the stepped over poo on dog etc mess. i would rather carpet shampoo the entire house. I put potty pads all over places she had "gone" to and sometimes she did it on those - it was just random probability i concluded. Anyway, i got this yesterday and she was left alone all day today. i found a poop and two marks of urine (i put potty training pad underneath). i concluded this has a higher probability than random. so i am planning to reinforce it and get another "grass pad" so that i can wash and dry under sun, while the other is serving. hope smell doesnt become a part of the house and we dont realize it.

I live in an apartment and these were so useful! I have a 5 month old puppy who is almost potty trained now, and i use these grass mats in my patio. He loves using them, and like many other reviewers, my dog thought it was a toy he could pick up and chew or dig on. But he eventually got the hang of it. I threw some treats on them so he could get used to them at the beginning, and now he scratches and whines at the patio door when ne needs to go. I use pee mats under the grass for easy clean up since i cant get a hose or anything to an apartment patio. The smell is definitely bad when im cleaning it up, but since i use it outside its not a big deal for me. I wouldnt reccommend using it indoors because of the smell unless you clean it often. I have a small (~10lb) dog but i got 2 of the large mats. If you have an even bigger dog, you may want to consider getting more mats to make your pet more comfortable, depending on how your dog likes to pee. I think the only downside to this is that it sucks when your dogs poop is too soft to pick up. I would definitely reccommend this to people in apartments.
