It works great because my budgie hen has laid 2 eggs so far and is getting ready to drop a 3rd. It is pretty well made, especially compared to another poorly made one that I purchased on here and sent back before this one. It does have the scooped out center in the bottom, however, my hen continues laying her eggs in the back corner. As she turns her eggs, they eventually roll down into the center and she moves them back up into the corner. I am afraid they are going to get rolled down into the scoop, knock into each other and crack. But that isn't anything the manufacturer did wrong when making the nest box, it's just where my hen chose to lay and keep her eggs. I think.....right? Either way, we have eggs, so 5 stars! YAY!!
