I purchased this for my bosses retirement as he is a world traveler, and has just about anything he could need. The product works well, and looks very nice. The only thing I would have preferred would be a slightly larger size, but that might make the hovering considerably more difficult. Make sure to use the spacer as directed, or you will have a difficult time achieving the hovering planet.

We followed the directions, but organically getting the ball to float is better. I couldn't get it to work at first, so I wanted to return it, DON'T GIVE UP. Use both hands, holding the globe at the top, to slowly raise the ball up towards the magnet at the top. You will feel the globe get very light in your hands as the magnet takes over. Move your hands off the globe gently as the magnet takes over at the sweet spot, right around 1/4" from the top magnet. To get it to spin, blow on the globe lightly once it starts to float, it will spin for hours. Spinning it with your hands is too rough, it knocks the globe out of the magnetic sweet spot and it falls. Very cool that it works without being plugged in, no energy expended, but wow, the lighting really adds a lot to the overall look.

This is a beautiful and interesting product. It makes a great addition to a modern decor. My only complaint is that the mechanism that makes the globe automatically rotate works too well. It causes the globe to spin so fast you can't enjoy the beautiful work that was put into the globe. It makes it all a blur. I would recommend that if the mechanism can't be adjusted to slow the rotation down significantly, then remove it. At least then you can enjoy the artwork of the globe. Overall I would still recommend it. It really is beautiful
