   This product is an easy way to upgrade to a larger hard drive. You simply place the old drive in the source slot and the new drive in the target and press the button. Wait until it is complete and then install the new drive and boot your PC. It is that easy. I upgraded an 8 year old laptop to a larger Solid state drive and it now works like it did when it was new. This product Is worth every penny. No need to restore images from a download or DVD image. Make sure you follow the instructions. Depending on the drive size it can take a couple of hours to do the copy. The other bonus is that you can also use this device as a backup drive to backup files. It comes with a USB connection.

   If you have a bunch of Harddrives laying around and you just want to check them out to see whats on them then this allows you to check out 2 of of them at a time. This is so convienant. This particuar one doesn't do the old old IDE drives but those old drives have other options. But the nice thing about this unit is that if you want to duplicate a drive to be exact you can put it in the 1st slot and then put another drive same size or bigger in the 2nd slot and you can make exact copy of the drive in slot 1 without even turning on your computer. Its a little bit slow doing it that way but it is exact copy.. You will be happy with this setup.

   I was a little worried that the device was not working but it turns out that this model has a different display of led lights that are different When starting this device. When it comes to cloning a source hard drive to the target hard drive. Press and hold the button for 3 seconds and release and press the button again one time. The hard drive lights are flashing and underneath the lights representing the 25%, 50%, 75% and 100% Continuously cycles through all until the led light stays solid and once it's all done all of the lights are solid. That's when you know that it's done. Turn off and unplug. I tried this with (2) 1Tb laptop hard drives. Worked perfectly. I didn't have to do anything else. It did take awhile to clone but hey it was a good buy.

   `stand alone still clones nicely (hdci) `easiest to use w/ matching SSD Gb size but, I didn't want to buy a third party partitioning software (yet) to reclaim wasted space on my larger SSD that I cloned too, so I just used the OS to format the remaining space (after the successful clone) & use that space as a drive also. I've always wanted an external docking station and the "wavlink" (USB 3.0) works very effectively w/ very little cost and it functions very quickly! My system recognizes the unit w/out a problem: It's very friendly but, the instructions do tell you how to safely remove and handle the drives in the unit (if you must) `nice standalone upgrade for my old ASUS CM1630! (( may have to get used to turning the unit off when you choose to put the system into "sleep" and especially before shutting down))

   Used this to copy my C drive, that was on a 1TB SSD, to a 2TB SSD. I had about 730GB of programs and info on the original and it copied it perfectly. Just follow the instructions. It only took about 20 minutes. If you're going to a larger drive, you'll need to go to your disk management and extend the volume after you've copied to it.
