This was a birthday present for my 11 year old daughter. She was really excited when she opened it. My 5 year old son enjoyed it, my wife enjoyes it, I enjoyed it. Even my 13 year old daughter who isn't pleased by anything at this age seemed to enjoy it. It's one of the few things my family collectively had fun with which was a very nice change. It doesn't include the sugar to put in it, so buy that too at the same time if it's a gift. It comes with 2 cones which are a nice hard plastic. I bought a sugar set from the same company that came with extra cones. It says you can put hard candy in to use also. We haven't tried that yet, but if it works as well as the flossing sugar does, it'll be amazing.I'd recommend this. Well worth the price for some family fun.

This thing is amazing. I don’t know how anyone is taking 20-30 minutes to make one cotton candy. If you let it heat up for like 5-10 minutes before you add sugar (like the instructions tell you to do) while you get other things ready, once it starts spitting out cotton, it goes FAST! Towards the very end of the scoop, a lot of fluff is coming at once. For my new machine, I almost can’t keep up. If you don’t spin your wand fast enough, you’ll have a mess. We had a couple of the teal colored machines. One came new but not working. The other one worked fine. While you had to spin quickly once it got going, I don’t feel like it went as quickly as the new red one we received to replace the broken one. Nevertheless, one scoop makes a fluff the size of my head. Somehow the red ones feels less messy than the teal one as well. Maybe that’s because I wasn’t spinning fast enough with the teal one. That would be my guess. Because if the cotton touches metal, it will melt, which is what I was having issues with. I’ve had practice now and I think I’ve got the hang of it.Tip: Once the cotton starts, pick it up with the stick, but as it keeps coming, rest your stick on the rim and spin. Going around the inside of the machine really just makes a mess and causes the cotton to catch on the sides where melted/hardened sugar builds up.

my daughter and i love cotton candy. i get it for us once and a while as a special treat. when i saw this cotton candy maker on sale, and read the reviews, i decided to give it a try. WOW! it worked great! super simple to use...just plug it in, turn it on, wait 10 minutes for it to warm up, and BAM! you start to get cotton candy made. this IS a small model, so you aren't going to get huge sticks of candy, however, for myself and my daughter, it makes the perfect size. if you need big, just get a larger model. great value for the price

An un-asked for Christmas gift. As a surprise gift it was really good. Something better than a game for the computer or game player.THe whole family gathered around the kitchen and let the grandkids make cotton candy for all. The machine works very well but adult supervision is necessary since the center gets very hot.I'm glad I also bought the starting set including the paper cones and the SUGAR necessary. Made it usable right away without trying to use house-hold sugar. I guess regular sugar would have worked but the grape flavored sugar was a real hit. This is a very high quality item and should last many years.

I received this machine about a month ago now and have used it on 4 different occasions. Each time I have used it it has worked great! I love this machine! Big batches of cotton candy (this last time I made 3 large ziplocs full to give to family) do take a while because you have to break it into smaller batches. So it is not as quick as a large machine you can rent, etc. The amount of sugar the machine fits at one time is enough to make a thing of cotton candy about 1/4 to 1/3 the size you see at the carnival. Warm your machine up! Make sure you are warming your machine up, it makes all the difference. Taking the 5 minutes before you start using the products will save you lots of frustration. The sticks are slippery. I don't know if this is just a problem I've had but the sticks that come with the cotton candy are a little slippery and the candy has a tendency to slide off while still trying to add to it. Easy fix is the have the ends of the sticks the cotton candy will be on sitting in water while you get your machine together. Luckily I didn't buy this unit for the skewers though!

Really easy to use and surprisingly easy to clean up! Makes great cotton candy just like at the fair in perfect portions. We have experimented with different flavors by adding liquid flavoring to the sugar (which was a little messy and sticky and didn't work as well) and by adding pink lemonade powder to the sugar- yum! Next were going to try kool-aid. My kids love it! I wish you could add more sugar to have more continuous cotton candy without having to stop and add. But for what we paid you can't beat it.

So fun!!! I did not realize that I could use hard candies in this so even before getting the floss sugar, we were taste testing root beer, lemon, cherry and even chocolate candies. you can also use sugar free candies which is awesome. It isn't as fluffy but that is not the machines fault. Still super yummy. We actually prefer the hard candies over the floss sugar. It's less over powerfully sweet. One note, the instructions say to let it heat for at least 10 minutes. This is not enough. Give it 20.

It works! A scoop of regular sugar came out a beautiful cotton Candy! The machine is for household use so it's much slower than the commercial ones, you must preheat for at least 10 mins before use, but it's pretty fun to make your own cotton candy at home. The taste is not as good as what they sell on street though, probably because I only used regular sugar instead of floss sugar. The only down side is it's slow and there are lots sugar residue inside of the rim which isn't easy to clean. There are some melt sugar on the spin thing which later on become solid, even after first use. Besides that, this little machine actually works perfectly and make good enough cotton candy. Plus basically NO noise at all.

I bought this for my daughter as part of her science education from home. It was easy to set up, easy to clean, and the instructions were simple to follow. We used bubble gum flossing sugar (purchased separately) and it was delicious. The only downside is the sugar particles left over inside the center device, impossible to get it all out, so when storing it be sure to cover that center piece with some kind of plastic to prevent critters from honing in on it inside your cabinets. Great product overall.
