have not used these lights while riding. I know already how easy it is to recharge with the usb. I know how easy it is to mount, I was able to mount both within 5 minutes after they were finished their first charging. I know how good the mount is compared to my old setup, a flashlight mounted on the handle bar. The problem with that setup was the flashlight tipping down as I was riding. I put a bunch of tape on the handle bar so it would grip better. It never did. How better this system, I needed a lot of force to move the light up or down. I know how bright the front light is. I went out on a golf course beside my condo. I could see quite a distance in front of the bike.

Most of my rides have been at night on a circle paved bike path that goes about 2.5 miles. I usually go 4 times around. The light I have now is useless for seeing in front of the bike. I share the path with people walking around it. The shining front light is only good for people coming towards me, to see me. The current back light has worked for over 12 years on the original battery. It is not quite as bright as this new light, but it gets the job done. I have mounted the new light and left the old one on. I'll use both until the battery dies.
