   I tried a regular leash and a slip lead and couldn't walk my dog. I reluctantly purchased this prong collar because I was afraid I would hurt my dog. After 3 days of staring at the box I opened it up and gave it a try. Well, it was amazing the difference in my dog and the walks were actually pleasurable. He didn't seem uncomfortable and I did not hear a wince, not once.

She's obviously comfortable during the no pressure, regular walk, and now after a couple weeks, we can tell she'd rather not lunge at another dog and keep walking rather than have the collar tighten around her neck. It comes as two separate pieces. The fabric collar and then the prongs. You can use just the prongs if you wanted, but I like to have the collar over it so it doesn't look so scary.
